Aero Ltd was founded in 1994 with the mission to bring to the market a inexpensive two seat aircraft for basic training and tourism.
Mr. Antoniewski's company CEO and leading designer of AT aircrafts first construction AT-1 was designed and build as his master thesis project at Aeronautical Department of Warsaw Institute of Technology. AT-1 is a single-seat low wing plane which by now accumulated over 2500 hours patrolling forests in Poland and flying at various air shows around Europe.
In 1996 the next plane marked AT-2 was build. The experience and know-how accumulated during this project were the spring board for the next construction AT-3. AT-3 airplane has been designed and build according to the new European JAR-VLA regulations.
In 1997 the two prototypes of AT-3 were built; - first designated for the full spectrum of in flight tests, the second for the static tests The prototype of AT-3 has flown over 1500 hours in basic training missions in Warsaw Aeroclub.
AERO gather under the company wings not only aviation enthusiasts but also seasoned aviation professionals with years of design, manufacturing and certification experience.
The design and certification team consisted of seasoned professionals previously involved in designing and certifications processes of such planes as Kruk, Turbo Kruk, Wilga, Wilga 2000, PZL-110, PZL-150, PZL-111 and others, among them: the leading designers, excellent structural analysts, the leading specialist in domestic and foreign certification processes, strengths tests engineers and experienced test pilot. The result of this blend is the only VLA class all metal aircraft on the market today designed and manufactured with "big aviation" know how and experience.
AERO team has designed and manufactured the complete professional production line consisting of 15 production jigs and full set of moulds securing the full compatibility of all structural elements and carbon/kevlar-fiber composite parts.
In June 1997 the application to Polish certification authority was filed to initiate certification process according to JAR-VLA regulations.
In May 1999 the company received Type Certificate No BB-210 for AT-3 aircraft.
AT-3 is the first in Poland and the sixth in the world to receive JAR-VLA certification.
In November 2003 AERO company received Design Organization Approval issued by General Inspectorate of Civil Aviation.
The first batch of five serial production planes ordered by the Aeroclub of Poland and Aeroklub of Warsaw has been delivered in 2002.
In November 2003 AERO company received Production Certificate issued by General Inspectorate of Civil Aviation.
In February 2003 AERO company received Type Certificate for production version with 912S Rotax engine.
In January 2005 AT-3 R100 received its EASA CS-VLA Type Certificate.
In September 2005 AERO received EASA Type Certificate for the three blade carbon fiber Aeroelastic ELPROP propeller.
